We offer two types of guided walking tours through Fitzroy: a two-hour exploration of southern Fitzroy, and fully tailored walks designed around your group size, specific interests and preferred duration.

Classic Fitzroy Tour
(2-Hour Walk)

In the Classic Walking Tour you will uncover the social fabric of Fitzroy, past and present. You will get an overview of the amazing history of Melbourne’s first suburb as well as an introduction to the threads and themes that make Fitzroy so unique, including:

  • Historic landmarks, architecture and the built environment
  • Music, street art, bars, pubs and cafes
  • Social justice organisations, activism, movements
  • Cafes, social clubs and restaurants
  • Sites of significance for First Nations communities
  • Historical and present day Fitzroy characters and stories

The Classic Walking Tour of Fitzroy lasts for approximately two hours. Practical information includes:

  • Runs every Friday, Saturday & Sunday at 10am and 3pm
  • Route focuses on the Southern part of Fitzroy
  • Starts at the corner of Gertrude St and Smith St
  • Ends at the Fitzroy market, Rose St
  • Flat route with regular breaks
  • Small groups, capped at 10 participants
  • Everyone is welcome
